Information on Raising our HOA Assessment

Dear friends and neighbors in SAR: THE VOTE ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 26 IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT AND URGENT VOTES FOR THE FUTURE OF SAR! I URGE YOU TO SUPPORT YOUR HOA BOARD MEMBERS IN THEIR VOTE TO RAISE OUR ASSESSMENTS.
In a few years the MUD will dissolve [after paying off the bonds], leaving the HOA to pay for mowing, trash pickup, taxes, maintenance, the MUD building, and other necessary expenses along with the almost $80,000.00 budget of the HOA. After months of agonizing and planning, we have found ways to cut the current $289,000.00 MUD budget down to about $90,000.00 that the HOA must inherit. In order to reach the income necessary to continue, we must raise that $90,000.00 by the time the MUD goes away [about 9 years].
BUT the state limits any rise in the HOA assessments [$275.00/year/per lot] to only 10% or only $27.50 this year! It will take a 10% rise in our tiny assessment for those 9 years plus excellent management to have any chance of having an income that will match our obligations!
Yes, the bad news is that we HAVE NO CHOICE if we are to remain solvent: THE BOARD MUST VOTE TO RAISE OUR  ASSESSMENTS 10% PER YEAR PER LOT. There is no other way.
Bob Kuhn, David Echevarria and I implore you to come 26 September and support your HOA Board in voting FOR this absolutely necessary increase. And it will have to be voted on every year. If we do not start this year [2019] we will go broke 9 years from now. We have explored every possible way and this is the only chance we have. I will gladly support their vote to raise my assessment and pay an extra $87.50 for my 3 lots this year.
The HOA Board members have discussed this issue for several meetings. Now they must vote. I hope you will understand and support these hardworking volunteers.
The HOA will be inheriting the MUD building, Tennis Courts, 8 plus acres of common land, as well as mowing and additional expenses]
   Please tell your neighbors.
